Hyowon CHI began his career as a soloist at age 14 by performing Mozart's Flute Concerto with Busan Symphony Orchestra. He obtained 4 Artist Diplomas at the age of 19 at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris : flute (prof. Claude Lefebvre), chamber music (Eric Le Sage & Paul Meyer), piccolo (Nathalie Rozat) and orchestra (Gilbert Audin). He then completed his musical education at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva with Jacques Zoon.

He is a laureate of the Leopold Bellan International Competition in 2010 and won 1st prize at the Brest International Competition in chamber music in 2015.
He performs in prestigious concert halls collaborating with Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Korean National Opera, Orchestre Colonne, New York City Ballet, Canada National Ballet, Vienna State Ballet , etc. In 2016, he performed Bartók's pieces as a soloist at the Philharmonie de Paris as part of the «Prelude Concert» of Orchestre de Paris .

In the 2020 - 2021 season, he was invited to collaborate for the production of 5 music albums with renowned compositors and musicians such as Naji Hakim, Amaury Du Closel... He also appeared on France 2 , France 3 , Arte , Sky Arte (Italy), KBS1 (South Korea), France Musique, Radio Classique...
